COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
TIRE CHAIN, REINFORCED, PASSENGER CAR (TYPE RP) WITH
REPLACEMENT CROSS CHAINS
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this Commercial Item Description in lieu of Interim Federal Specification RR-C-00281.
Salient characteristics:
Passenger car reinforced tire chains and replacement cross chains furnished under this commercial item description shall comply with the National Association of Chain Manufacturers Tire Chain Specification (NACM-5179 TC).
The issue of NACM-5179 TC in effect on the date of the solicitation shall be used to determine compliance with stated requirements.
Code number. The following code numbers apply to the National Stock Number (NSN), tire size, side chain length, cross chain length, and replacement cross chain number.
