5.3 Part or identification number (PIN). The PIN structure to be used for acquisition of chain assemblies and replacement cross chains in accordance with this CID are created as follows:

A =CID designator.

52507 = CID number.

XXXX = Chain assembly or replacement cross chain size designator (see tables I and II).

5.4 Cross-reference and supersession data. Tire chains conforming to this CID are interchangeable/ substitutable with tire chains conforming to MIL-C-62040A (AT), dated 16 December 1985; MS500055E (AT), dated 28 March 19136; MS500056E (AT), dated 28 March 1986; MS500057D (AT), dated 25 March 1986; MS50005S0 (AT), dated 16 September 1986; MS500059G (AT), dated 10 November 1986; and MS500060G (AT), dated 16 September 1986 which have been superseded by this CID.

5.5 Regulatory requirements. The offeror/contractor is encouraged to use recovered materials in accordance with Public Law 94-580 to the maximum extent practicable.
