3.5.2 Road Performance. When properly mounted on a vehicle, the equipment shall be capable of satisfactory operation over improved and unimproved roads.
3.6 Identification marking. Equipment shall be identified in accordance with Standard MIL- STD-130.
3.7 Workmanship. All workmanship shall be in accordance with good commercial practices with attention to elimination of all burrs, sharp edges, kinks, loose solder or flux and loose wire ends.
4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS
4.1 The supplier is responsible for the performance of all inspection requirements as specified herein. Except as otherwise specified, the supplier may utilize his own or any other inspection facilities and services acceptable to the Government. Inspection records of the examination and tests shall be kept complete and available to the Government as specified in the contract or order. The Government reserves the right to perform any of the inspections set forth in the specification where such inspections are deemed necessary to assure supplies and services conform to prescribed requirements.
4.2 Classification of inspection. Inspection shall be classified as follows:
a. Preproduction inspection. b. Acceptance inspection.
4.3 Preproduction inspection. The preproduction inspection and test shall be conducted in accordance with 4.3.1 through 4.3.3.4
4.3.1 Determine that all material and parts are in accordance with specifications referenced on the drawings.
4.3.2 A detailed visual and dimensional inspection of the completed item including the following:
4.3.2.1 Make measurements as necessary to verify conformance with dimensional requirements of drawings.
4.3.2.2 Perform detailed inspection to assure proper assembly of all component parts and quality workmanship.
4.3.2.3 Inspect finish and marking.
4.3.2.4 Inspect all wiring and cable connections to assure firm electrical and mechanical connections, and to detect any visible short circuits, open circuits, etc.
